The Exchange
Main Exchange Renovation at Fort Campbell
In order to continue serving our service members and their families well, the Main Exchange at Fort Campbell needed a facelift. The Exchange provides valued goods and services at exclusive military pricing, operating 5,100 facilities in more than 30 countries, 50 states and four U.S. territories. The project included replacing the tile flooring with polished concrete in the Main Exchange, as well as adding new paint throughout the store and new wood portals around the store’s two mall entries.
When soldiers and families need to take a break from their day, they can visit the Main Exchange’s food court. To open up the space and improve acoustics, the food court’s ceiling was raised about four feet, and acoustical tile was added. New skylights bring in more natural light. New seating, flooring and lighting complete the space. Hafer also designed the Main Exchange’s Panera Bread, which is the first Panera built on an Army or Air Force installation. A new dining room, kitchen and bakery-café reflect Panera’s fast-casual brand.
Store entrances were updated inside the mall and the barbershop was relocated to a new storefront that offers more space for staff and clients. A DOCS Dental clinic provides dental services to the military community, complete with an inviting waiting area, spacious exam rooms, imaging services and more.
The new-and-improved Fort Campbell Main Exchange offers many of the services military members and their families need to live their daily lives and better serve our country.
