WVU Medicine
Fairmont Medical Office Building
As part of WVU Medicine’s mission to provide excellent patient care and improve the health of West Virginians, they decided to expand into Fairmont, West Virginia, to serve a county that was determined to have too few health providers to cover certain patient needs. The new clinic, the first development on a multi-acre site, is an outpatient center containing the following services:
• Primary care including obstetrics / gynecology
• Urgent care
• Orthopaedics
• Nephrology
• Gastroenterology
• General surgery
• Vascular surgery
The façade features stone and brick with a steel and glass canopy. It contains 39 exam rooms, two x-ray rooms, a mammography room with associated changing and consult rooms and three procedure rooms. The building is designed with flexibility in mind to adapt to future, ever-changing healthcare needs.
