University of Southern Indiana
Eagle's Nest Dining Renovation
As the University noticed a pattern of declining sales at the Eagle’s Nest, a food service court within the University Center, they decided it was time to make a change. Hafer was hired to transform the tired food court with fast food appeal into a modern, sophisticated dining establishment that students want to go to.
Chick fil A and Steak 'n Shake replaced the current restaurants, and the seating area was completely remodeled. A variety of seating arrangements were created including landing stations equipped with receptacles and charging ports. The finishes were upgraded to include wood ceilings, 3form panels and decorative lighting fixtures.
As part of this project, the student government information post was remodeled as well. A custom desk was designed for students to use and a presentation wall was created. The presentation wall is flanked with stone and includes a glass marker board for meetings.
The newly revamped Eagle’s Nest has been a hit with students since opening. At any given time during the day, you can see students enjoying the new space.
