FFA Leadership Training Center
Activity Center
It’s important for future leaders to have a place where they can learn and grow and create lifelong friendships, all while having fun. This new classroom and activity space for the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center will provide just that. A blend of modern and traditional, it’s the perfect space to honor the longstanding tradition of FFA but to also shape our leaders of tomorrow.
The building replaces a former one on the Hardinsburg campus that was dated and no longer served FFA’s needs well in terms of space and programming. The new 13,200 sf activity center will serve as the heart of camp. The exterior features heavy timber, wood and stone with multiple porches around the perimeter, giving it a lodge-like feel. Once inside, you enter a spacious lobby with an abundance of natural light flowing from floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrance and clerestory windows around the space. The lobby features a fireplace and coffee bar, as well as various seating areas for conversation, collaboration and study. Beyond the lobby is a classroom, breakout spaces, a camp archive room and other support spaces.
A main feature of the activity center is a 5,750 sf reception area, capable of hosting 350 people. Expansive overhead doors on three sides provide greater flexibility on a nice day.
This activity center will help FFA cultivate a new generation of leaders, and everyone is eagerly awaiting its completion.
