Evansville Water & Sewer Utility
East Waste Water Plant Admin Building
Evansville Water and Sewer Utility was in the process of several infrastructure and system improvement projects, which presented the opportunity to build a new administration building. With the new building, EWSU desired to create an inspiring workplace for its employees where they look forward to coming to work each day. The building contains a mix of offices, meeting rooms and break-out spaces.
With several buildings already on the EWSU site, it was important that this building blended aesthetically with the current buildings. Cues were taken from the industrial nature of those buildings to create a contemporary industrial design mixing brick, glass and limestone. Located in the rear of the building are two 90-foot-long BAF tanks. They are enclosed with form-lined concrete walls and have a beautiful three-dimensional mural depicting the shape of the Ohio River and how it relates to the overall ecology of the river.
EWSU has opened its doors to the public so they can learn firsthand about EWSU’s processes and mission to deliver high quality water to the community. Visitors are even able to peer into the BAF room to see the operations from a glass gallery.
The EWSU administration team is settled into their new office and is thrilled with the final outcome.
