Mayfield First United Methodist Church

In their new building, Mayfield First United Methodist Church wanted space for more than just worship, but fellowship, too. After a natural disaster destroyed their previous church building, the congregation realized what’s most important: leaning on each other for support. The new church will highlight the resilience and passion of this church’s faith.

Church leadership aspired to swap the previous building’s stately and formal façade for a more modern and inviting one. Their vision included blending modern elements with timeless religious design to create a space that better meets the needs of a 21st-century church. Warm wood accents create a relaxed feeling, while salvaged stained glass repurposed from the former church building pays a beautiful homage.

Visitors to the new Mayfield First United Methodist Church will feel right at home as they are received into the open narthex. Inside, they will find a gathering space where they can meet with other church members before they enter the sanctuary for service or the fellowship hall for a community gathering. Additional spaces include offices for pastors and church leadership, a nursery, a small chapel, and a conference room that can double as a bridal suite.

For a church that values community outreach, the designs include plenty of space to house events such as a fellowship hall and a full kitchen. On the lower level, spaces for youth development, choir practice, and general storage allow for future growth.

Anyone who steps inside the future home of Mayfield First United Methodist Church will be embraced by a feeling of calm and peace, much needed for a congregation who has endured so much.
