Good Shepherd Catholic Parish
Master Plan & Renovation Projects
Good Shepherd Catholic Parish has seen a lot of growth in recent years – in their ministries, their congregation, and in school enrollment. Due to this, facility improvements and expansion are needed. A master plan was developed to prioritize the parish’s facility needs and guide them through future expansion of the church and school.
The goals for the master plan included:
• Unify the campus by establishing connectivity
• Examine site for traffic, circulation, and pedestrian flow
• Enhance worship experience and create more capacity
• Improve church and school aesthetics
• Design improvements and expand the school
• Address future expansion possibilities
The process began by evaluating the parish’s current facilities fully and creating a written report of observations and recommendations. The design team also hosted more than 20 information-gathering sessions with parish and school representatives to determine major campus issues and how they envisioned the campus’ future. From there, the team developed a series of conceptual diagrams, sketches and plans, which were further developed into the facilities master plan. It recommends a four-phase approach to meet Good Shepherd’s needs and goals. Phases include renovations to the church; an addition with new pre-k and preschool classrooms, and other school support spaces; and a new chapel, vestibule, administration offices, narthex, and much more.
This new facilities master plan will guide Good Shepherd Catholic Parish through updates and additions that will help the parish continue to grow both physically and spiritually.
