Dubois County Park
Master Plan & Improvements
Dubois County Park is a 144-acre park serving residents and visitors of Dubois County, Indiana. The existing park features campsites, shelter houses, restroom facilities, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, lakes, disc golf and hiking trails. In 2018, the Dubois County Park Board asked Hafer to create a master plan to provide more campsites and enhanced amenities for the park.
After surveying the 144-acres, Hafer presented recommendations to the board and held several public forums for the community’s input. Priorities for park improvements were established, which led to a master plan that would be implemented over several phases.
The first phase is completed and includes a new restroom facility with a trailhead and parking. New and improved trails improve connectivity throughout the park and have ADA upgrades for wheelchair accessibility. Fourteen, new, spacious RV campsites assist the park with additional revenue. Plans for the second phase are being developed and may include an upgraded playground with a splash park, basketball and volleyball courts and other amenities.
Residents and visitors of Dubois County are enjoying the new improvements that better connect the park and feature beautiful scenic views of the meadows, lakes, woodlands and park amenities.
