Mark Thomsen, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Architect

Mark plays trumpet with a local jazz group once a week and often thinks about the parallels between architectural design and melody. This perspective is translated into his passion for healthcare architecture, displayed in over 35 years of experience. He loves to work on many kinds of projects within the field, but most of all, Mark enjoys designing healthcare facilities. Not only for patients but for the healthcare staff who have dedicated their lives to providing care for those who need it most. He’s passionate about creating healthcare environments that are healing and takes this ideal into every project he designs.

Some say the “devil is in the details,” but that’s Mark’s favorite part of the job. He believes focusing on the details ensures the final built environment is beautiful and serves its occupants well for decades to come. For Mark, it is a privilege to play a part in any healthcare design project.

In his spare time, not only does he love jazz, but Mark also loves to travel and even reads mystery novels set in places he’d like to visit one day. He hopes to visit another National Park out west with his wife and son, Linda and Max, or return to his hometown, St. Louis, and visit with friends and family.
