Principal, Mechanical Engineer

Ryan takes his responsibility as a Mechanical Engineer very seriously. After all, what he designs makes a large impact on people’s lives whether they know it or not. His expertise in mechanical systems in critical environments such as hospitals has been an asset to the firm and our clients. After working at Hafer for nearly 25 years, Ryan has risen to take on a leadership role in the firm. He enjoys sharing what he has learned and mentoring the new mechanical engineers that come on board.

One of Ryan’s best attributes is his calm nature even when challenges arise. That’s one of the reasons why clients enjoy working with Ryan, too. He also finds fulfillment from finding ways to make projects more sustainable to providing clients with the most cost efficient and energy saving design, as well as making the building environment and community a better place to live and work.

One thing everyone knows about Ryan is his love for sports. He played basketball in college, is a dedicated coach to his children’s sports teams and loves to follow Indiana University Football and Basketball. When he isn’t at work or on the court, Ryan and his wife Amy enjoy renovating their house together and have even flipped a few houses doing the work themselves.
