The Deaconess Aquatic Center, designed by Hafer, has been an incredible addition to the Evansville Area. Recently, it was awarded the Exceptional Facility Design award by the Indiana Park and Recreation Association, which is awarded to facilities that “embody vision, dedication and excellence in parks and recreation.” This award shows that The Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation and Deputy Mayor Steve Schaefer’s vision for the Deaconess Aquatic Center hit the mark. We are honored to have designed this facility that is positively impacting the community.
The Deaconess Aquatic Center was designed to serve the community for years to come. The Lilly King competition pool provides a space where diving and swimming can occur simultaneously, and it can be utilized for high school and college-level competitions. The 4,000 sf recreational area provides a space for everything from swim lessons to basketball. From competitive to recreational, the Deaconess Aquatic Center provides a quality, state-of-the-art space for everyone.
The Deaconess Aquatic Center was also named a “2022 Dream Design” by Aquatics International.
