We don’t often have projects boomerang back to us, but when they do, it's really special.
The Chandler Public Library was a project that Hafer originally designed in the 1980s. After many decades, the team at the library knew it was time to evolve. We were thrilled for the opportunity to take our own work and breathe new life into this building to serve the community for many more years to come.
With the exterior in good condition, this project was focused on renovating the interior. The new design brings new life, vitality, and functionality into the space.
The project was officially complete in February 2022 and a Grand Opening event was held on February 19, 2022. Considering our history with this project, it was extra special for Hafer’s very own Architect and Principal, Jack Faber, to say a few words at the grand opening event with the current Library Director, Trista Smith.
Hafer is thrilled to see the community back in this library once again. To all Newburgh Chandler Public Library visitors with little ones with a knack for creativity, be sure to find the three children’s storybooks all about architecture and design—donated by Hafer just for them.
